Lakad/Lakaw/Laag

It is interesting how one word means different things in different languages and/or dialects.  This week at Litratong Pinoy, our theme is lakad, which means walk.  However, in Bisaya, my dialect, lakad is synonymous to lakaw and this time, I’m using the word lakaw in this context: to go on a trip.

We usually say; “Mulakaw sa ko,” which literally means, “I’ll go for a walk” but it can also mean, “I’ll go on a trip.”  We also use the term la-ag which also means the same thing.

This is a photo that I took a while back on our trip to Mammoth Mountain, California.  Because we stopped by the Alabama Hills, I took an interesting photo of the side mirror.  I added textures to this photo and recolored it a little for effect.

Now, this is a photo that I took on top of Mammoth Mountain, about 11,053 feet above sea level.  And no, that’s not me standing at the edge of the Mountain.  Doesn’t it look like you’re on top of the world?  At least, I think so.  However, the mountain on this side, is not as steep as you might.
